The Lake District is home to several exceptional species of birds of prey - or raptors as they are collectively known. Best known is probably the peregrine falcon, but the Lakes also has plenty of other species including currently a couple of pairs of ospreys, buzzards, red kite, merlin and kestrel. This day out consists of a series of short walks on which we'll try and find as many birds of prey as possible. It's a bit of a tour too - you'll see plenty of the Lake District and with luck, plenty of other wildlife of interest. Included in the price is a pub lunch.

WHERE?  Meet points at Bampton Grange, Haweswater or Langdale - exact location provided when you book. Sites visited could include Haweswater, Martindale, Little Langdale, Bassenthwaite, Hawkshead - locations are chosen according to where it's easiest to see the most birds.

WHEN?  FRIDAYS between April and October. Start time varies with time of year and location - please phone or email for details of current start times.
